This policy covers taskant.com as relaunched in September 2026. We have no connection to earlier services on this domain and hold no data from them (see About Task Ant).

Information we collect

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting servers automatically record basic information when your browser requests a page. This typically includes your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type. We use logs to keep the site running, fix errors, and detect abuse such as automated scraping or attacks. Logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and then deleted or anonymized.

Saved hashtag sets

If you save a hashtag set, it is stored in your own browser (localStorage) on that device. It is never sent to us, we cannot read it, and it does not sync between devices or browsers. Clearing your browser data deletes it, and the saved sets page has Delete and Delete all buttons plus an export to a text or CSV file you keep.

Email updates

If you subscribe to our email updates, your address is sent directly to our email provider, [EMAIL PROVIDER NAME], and stored there — not on this website. We use it only to send the updates you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list. We never sell or share subscriber addresses.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) to understand which pages people find useful, how visitors reach the site, and which countries and devices they use. We use it to improve the site, not to advertise: we don't run Google Ads on this site, and we don't enable Google Signals or advertising features.

Google Analytics only runs if you accept it. The first time you visit, a banner asks. If you decline, or simply ignore it, nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and similar) that give your browser a random identifier so repeat visits can be counted as one person rather than several.

What Google Analytics collects in this setup: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address (Google does not store your full IP address in Google Analytics 4), referring website or search engine, device and browser type, and general interaction such as how long a page was open.

Changing your mind. Your choice is stored in your browser. To change it, clear site data for taskant.com and the banner will ask again. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on, or use your browser's own cookie controls.

Where data goes. Google processes this data as our processor and may transfer it outside your country, including to the United States, under its own safeguards. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Tool inputs

The hashtag generator, banned hashtag checker and caption and hashtag counter process what you type locally in your browser, using data that loads with the page. Your keywords, captions and hashtag lists aren't transmitted to Task Ant as part of using the tools.

Local storage on your device

To save you retyping, the generator may store your recent inputs, such as topics you searched, in your browser's localStorage. This information:

Emails you send us

If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to respond, and to fix any error you report. We don't add you to a mailing list.

Cookies

None of our tools need cookies to work. If our analytics provider or any future feature sets cookies, we'll say so here and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Advertising

We don't currently run ads. If that changes, this page will be updated first, including which ad providers are used and what choices you have.

How we share information

We don't sell or rent personal information. We share limited technical data only with service providers who help run the site (hosting, security and analytics, where used), or when the law requires it.

Children

Task Ant is a general-audience site and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube set their own minimum ages. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it's used. Because we don't have accounts, the main information we could hold is the content of emails and server log entries. To make a request, email [email protected].

Security

We use HTTPS across the site and limit access to logs and email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and because we don't collect passwords or account data, there's very little personal information to protect in the first place.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change, for example if we add an analytics provider or advertising, and we'll change the date at the top.
